Trading Cards

Can someone here help me learn a little bit more about the trading card sets? I have a couple of questions--

I understand there is the original 1994 set of 300 cards for Felicity, Kirsten, Addy, Samantha and Molly.

Does the 1998 set duplicate the 1994 set and then add more cards for each doll, including a set for Josefina, or is the 1998 set a completely different set of cards beyond the 1994 set? I have the same questions about the 2002 set.

(I'm having a hard time being understandable, I know--sorry this is so confusing)

I just purchased the 1994 set on ebay, and I'm wondering if I should try to buy the 1998 set. Would I just mostly get duplications?
